August buried jewel hunt. Are you ready?

Here's a special clue for you to help in your hunt!

Elle hopped onto her unicorn, Elene that galloped into the starbound sky.
Should she head to Netherlands or Greece?
As Elene spread out her magnificent wings, Elle pondered, on where she could find theChanel wonders.
As the cold midnight breeze caressed her neck, she shuddered and pulled out herTweed coat.
Where lies the blue encrusted gems. Would she be able to get them beforeChiara reaches?

Have fun hunting!

Hueys in the kitchen #3: Slurp french toast

One of those mornings when the tummy wants something better, complaining of the usual cereals, bread or biscuits. And yes, this french toast is definitely sometime good for a quick breakkie fix

2 Eggs
2/3 cups Milk
Dash of salt
Dash of sugar
Vanilla essence- Optional
( didn't had this in the fridge so I skipped this)
Nutmeg- Optional
Cinnamon -Optional
(Preferred mine without Cinnamon)
Cheese- Optional
Honey- Optional

Whisk together the eggs, salt, sugar, nutmeg, vanilla essence and cinnamon (if applicable)

Add in the milk and give it a good mix

Dunk the bread like you are dunking your enemy  oreo so that it absorbs enough of the good stuff

Heat up the pan with some unsalted butter

And it's done!(:
Top it up with fresh fruits ( I only had bananas), drizzle with honey (I forgot to do that) for some tummy treat!

Hueys in the kitchen #2: Claypot chicken rice

Attempted my first claypot chicken rice a few weeks ago, with salted fish, lup cheong, chicken and mushroom.

mmm(:

Cushy nails

Inspired by the pretty quilts from Dayne quilt bag, I couldn't help but want to have my nails done in those pretty quilts

It's a pretty concoction of pastel and shades, something different from my previous set of marble nails here

And it's so enjoyable now that I can shoot pretty shots in my new quilted nails for my store.
Here's styling with the popular dollap cream ring

What's there not to love about this set of nails? The quilted effect is intricately painted on by Belle from Glitzyfingers, with gel painted on those pockets to create a 3D effect similar to that of the bag

TDJ corporate project

The first corporate project that TDJ has been engaged to fulfill, for a ASEAN meeting in Singapore where staff from all over the world will gather here.

The client specified for purple orchids- Singapore's national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim

It was quite a tough task as I originally found the supplier to make them, but was played out last minute.
So over night I had to learn how to make corset brooches and wristlets to produce 105 and 52 of them respectively, completing them in 2-3 days.

And being unwell suddenly adds more challenge to completing this project.
And here's all my proud babies (:

Well this certainly fits the saying that goes, What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

So here's a mastered new skill and an achievement for my store(:

So yes, we can now proudly say we are able to handmade such floral corsets and brooches for events or weddings.

Top 5 restaurants

Have recently got an email from Julia of Betsy.com to shortlist a list of 5-10 cafe/restaurants locally or internationally that are my favourite!

Here's my top 5 in no order!

1. Carpenter and Cook

Love this little cozy cafe's quirkily vintage interior

This passionfruit meringue is so good. Love how soft and fluffy the passionfruit meringue peaks are, melting together with the lemon custard cream and crispy tart skin. Definitely a must try here!

Layers of chocolate sits on the caramel and topped with fine salt. This really brings chocolate tart up to the next level.

2. The Sushi bar

Loving the chef's recommendation of Salmon aburi soft shell crab roll and Hotate aburi sushi.
Such splendor.
Definitely one of my favourite sushi places around.

3. Tanuki Bar

A good evening chill out place if you are a lover of oysters, sashimi and alcohol.
Mmmmm(:

Don't miss the angry bird chicken wings if you are here!
This dish is a winner with its savoury marination, deep to the meat within, and that crispy skin. Try it in the original flavour before giving it dips. We loved it just the way it is.

4. The Asian Kitchen

One of my favourite chinese/taiwanese food cravings satsifyer, this restaurant has one of the most juicy duck meat, well marinated and roasted to retain the juice.

It's signature fried rice with such huge portions are enough to feed 2 for a plate.

My favorite branch has to be the Ion outlet as the same dishes at Raffles City  doesn't taste as good

5. Ichiban Boshi

This place must have the best Salmon Don ever.

Having tried this dish kickstarted my craze to search for better or comparable salmon don, but to no avail. No restaurants used chili oil and sesame oil to bring out the fragrance of the sashimi and rice.

And look at the generous servings of sashimi.

I'm craving for them now!

That's all for now! <3

Comfort

Sometimes simple pleasures in life can be attained by just sipping a cuppa of hot chocolate ( since I don't take coffee).
The rich and sweet flavours sure calms the day(:

And my 2 other current favourites has to be the seashell pearl studs from TDJ and nails from Glitzy Fingers (:
