Five and Dime with G.I Jo

Hello girls,

It's my first post to my blog using my new iPad and the blogger app today! Yay to another blog post up!

It's a cafe hopping post today, and we have settled on the much talked about Five and Dime cafe that sits at Rivervalley. With the help of directions savvy G and Jo's map app, we managed to walk there from somerset mrt after a good 15-20mins, including missing the green man indicator to cross the road while discussing G's outfit. #bimbotothemax

Thanks G for the post. Can you spot a glimpse of the green layering necklace from the gorgeous Cendrio gem set in store.

Kicking off our meet up which G's egg Benny's set.

And the waffles topped with the common chocolate and vanilla flavored ice cream. TBH, there was nothin fantastic about it

And a sneaky shot by yours truly of my girls also snapping away to accommodate my #instaaddict photo taking addition :p

New in store was this chocolate golden lava cake which caught G's eye

And there it is, the salty gold oozing out admist it's sweet moist cave. A pretty interesting dish I must say, but nothing really fantastic and worth 12SGD. I really still kinda prefer Bakerzin's cake or Carpenter and Cook's pastry (:

The full array of our desserts including the new Milo panna cotta that's pretty cold and creamy. About too gelat if you are gonna have it all to yourself

And here's our patterned theme outfit shot together and I finally get to wear my grandma-worthy-leopard-preen super comfy pants (: cheers to our 7 years of friendship and counting!

An ootd after 1000 failed shots cos the granny pants were really unkind to me for my ootds. And my pretty Jo.

Can't wait for the next outfit themed cafe hopping session with my girls.

Signing off,
G.I.Jo

P.s I'm really kinda proud of myself for coming up with this name for us. *chuckles* #cheapthrilltothemax

A thousand calories a meal

Thanks for the shot G!

I believe most of you have heard before or patronised this interesting little hardware store. Camouflaged like any ordinary old school neighbourhood hardware store in Lavender, behind the grills lies something you would never have expected

Instead of the usual tins of paint, bolts and screws, they serve a limited selection of mains, desserts and coffee. A pity they don't serve mains after 5pm. Boos. And I am not a patroniser of coffee, and they don't serve tea ): But I've heard of all the raves about the amazing coffee that they serve there.

Sneaks of Queen Eliza that arrived a few days ago. Already available in store.
Really impressed with the delicate details of this jewel.

And how's my new fur jacket? Totally love at first sight

Creme brulee and expresso set that G ordered.

Creme brulee, also known as burnt cream in the early eighteen century is a dessert consisting of rich custard base topped with a delicate layer of caramelised sugar.

Tastefully flavoured with vanilla, I must say this creme brulee's quite awesome.
Love  how light and creamy the texture is.
ooh la la

And that crispy delicate layer of crystallised sugar at the top. Heavenly.

What are gatherings without photos?
Stole this from G's amazing camera.

Sat-sun 9am-10pm

Kitchen closes at 5pm

We took 10mins on foot from lavender mrt to reach this hardware store with the help of G's navigation via google map

In a bid to satisfy our hungry tummies, we decided to walk to Citysquare mall (another 10mins) to search for  real food, like what J like to say. haha

Saizeriya, a budget family style Italian restaurant was where we rested our legs.

Smoked salmon pizza.

This photo is also from G's awesome lens. The disparity is huge eh :p

A sneak of our table of food. Paella, smoked salmon pizza, grilled chicken chop, escargots

Wanted to try the egg with potato and bacon, but our tummies are way too tiny!

Honestly, the food was just average, given that this is budget themed dining with no service charge and GST, So, don't pin your hopes too high! But I really like their garlic butter escargots. Given that it is $5.90 nett, it's really worth the deal. And the proportion of garlic butter, is just right <3

And in our last lap of the seemingly thousand calories that J termed, were 2 cakes from Cedele-
Red velvet and strawberry rose

Okay, honestly, both of them don't really appeal to me.
Since I'm more of a chocolate fan.Cakes were pretty moist and the girls seem to pretty enjoy them.

They say it taste more healthy

Heh. I'll still go for chocolate cakes anytime.

Regardless of the food on the table, I really love the catchup with my girls yesterday <3 It's amazing how our friendship blossomed from mere colleagues from a simple temp job while awaiting for our uni results. And lasted through how G went overseas to study, and we all stepped into the workforce (:
And I believe till many years later <3

I'm glad we took a brave step to throw the letter that day. Hehe

Loving the gif that G made <3

Merry Christmas!

It's the festive season again and belated celebration for J's birthday!
Lunch at this new place,Hifumi at Plaza Sing's new extension was quite bad. booo. a waste of calories.

They had free flow of appetisers included in the main course but honestly, not worth the extra calories. I ordered the paper wrapped chicken done in japanese style but it wasn't fantastic. In fact I don't like the concoction of spices. Shall not waste blog space to upload the photo

One of the best gifts of walking as part time is to have met these 2 girls <3

hehe.

outfit: fluffed up lace top. fareast. jeggings. cotton on. moustache watch. bkk. red lippie. maybeline. heels. fareast

Fooling in the toilet and camwhoring is what we do best :D

Calories at Nana's green tea cafe for green tea ice cream was sooooo worth it. Located one floor (level 3) below the restaurant we dined for lunch. This recommendation was suggested by the girls which was just featured in Sunday Times for the dessert and off we went.

They had Kanten jelly, corn flakes, delicious awesome matcha ice cream, whipped cream drizzled with matcha sauce ( which we scooped out a hefty portion to save on the calories), and minced red beans. love it.

We are so coming back again (:

A bracelet I customised with J using Bible locket which can be opened, and diamontee ball and grey swarovski pearl to keep the design simple and classic. Finished with my new find: diamontee magnetic clasp

Happy birthday my dear(:

Hehe my new loot today. From Diva's sales (:
An attempt to dissuade J from piercing her ear ( the top part), resulted in me getting seduced by this shi
