Sembawang beach/park

Went to sembawang beach with alethea today (:
surprisingly, its more pretty then i expected!

A said the trees and leaves are so pretty it resembles the parks in London, just that London's parks have more flowers then S park!

And some of the random shots I took along the way (:

A with her usual funny expressions

*spots water cooler*
me: wheee! water cooler! is the water nice
* A makes face*
A: no! it taste metallic!

*beams* I'm so proud of us

and i saw the swing! loveeesss swingggg
ran to the swing and made A take photos of me =p

obviously i took better shots =p can see her in every picture! while half of my face is gone for half of the quad shots =p

and playing around with the different apps from iphone. Iphone apps rocks! and its free! i think its called KTH or something. its in korean, but no biggie. not much difference. the descriptions of the different effects are in english (:

love this shot (: combined KTH with the camera bag app which i paid for lately =p
and then i decided we have to eat our waffles before it turned soggy! and that ends our swing craze. i'll be back! for the slides, cos other people hijacked our space ):

our hoegarden drink, and the tiny bottle cap opener i bought from brussels! I'm sure glad i bought it, if not i'll have no idea how to open!

wheeee, my pretty first handmade skirt i made myself (:

CHEESEEE (:

*nomnomnom* chews on the soggy waffle

love this effect, though half our faces get cut off half the time.haha

the medal reads: YOU PASSED!

yep i did! I graduated from school! and i passed my driving! WHEEE!

Adding some ice and pouring out the beer. love how the level of the beer increases in each square

A: "i'm a ballerina"
me: I'm a good photographer (:

admiring the flowers/fruits.
A: they are so PRETTTYY!!

just a random shot

some of our very limited graduation photos due to unforeseen circumstances =S we will be back for more!

and my *i tossed the graduation hat*
i simply just can't get enough of that

since we decided we would be back for more due to time constraints today, we just changed out of the attire. it was MAD MAD HOT!

thats very hawt! thats very hawt! hawt hawt hawt! hahah from chocoboys. its superrrr funny!

some emo shots

it was suppose to be a nice 'i'm standing in the middle of the road cos there are no cars now' or ' i'm walking towards the camera now' (as instructed by
A) but all the other shots look ugly. or maybe i just ruin them.hahaa!

We'll be back, S park ((:

After tuition
And my legs hurt badly ): especially on the way home from tuition. sob sob

And i realise it happens when i drink alcohol and not drink enough water after that! the same thing happened, but this time to my hands, after the deloitte party. Guess i drank too much and keep taking photos, so i guess that hand moved alot and thus it hurt. sounds silly, but i think thats the explanation!

googled and found this:

There are two main reasons why legs ache after drinking alcohol. One, alcohol intake increases the content of lactic acid in your body. Excessive build up of lactic acid in your body can lead to cramps or pain in your muscles. Two, alcohol leads to dehydration. Your body ends up falling short on electrolytes, and you tend to experience muscle pain or cramps. Of course, just how dehydrated you get will depend on what you drink, and how much of it you drink. The problem will only accentuate if you head home after a night of heavy drinking and directly collapse onto your bed. In such cases, you will most probably wake up the next morning with noticeable pain in your legs. The solution to this problem is to drink plenty of water before you go to sleep. Water intake will not only hydrate you, but will also lessen the concentration of built-up lactic acid in your body. This will help in reducing the chances of leg ache and muscle soreness. Also, eating foods that are rich in carbohydrates can be beneficial in these circumstances."

so wasn't the case! I felt the pain when i was walking home from sembawang park. and I only drank a little bottle of hoegarden ): how commeeee ): i think that time after convocation ball, i drank more then that and i didnt really feel the pain. A didn't feel good after the drink too. no more alcohol to beach next time. we buy apple juice XD

I caught the YOG table tennis single ladies finals today after my sewing session.

It was a really exciting match!
A pity Singapore's Isabelle wasn't strong enough for China's Gu Yu Ting.
Isabelle's moves were really pretty good, and she was able to serve some very tough balls and counter Gu's balls which pratically tip the side of the table.

but Gu is really way too strong.
but I still admire Isabelle, for putting up such a strong fight (:
She was able to perform even under the humongous stress and even though she knew that she had a tough competitor. And even till the last ball, she put on the best.

Well Done Isabelle! I feel so proud of you on behalf of singapore
you got us a silver medal (:

Wheee, i sewed todayyy (:
2 pouches and a skirt, all my first attempts.

I have been waiting to sew pouches for a long time and have been mentally designing the template in my mind (:

Now my pink bling iphone has a new home

Sewed a little red heart shape button near the backside of the piggy on the first picture, and a string of faux pearls on the neck of the lady piggy on the 2nd picture.

why does the piggy have such long ears? PIG RABBIT! haha!

Sewed the inner with black lining and Japan cotton batting to make it more fluffy! and for protection for my iphone
Hooked a cute little shopping bag pewter charm from USA at the zip (: I love paying attention to small details

Wooden squirrel with baby pink and pearl buttons, sewed and covered with the inner lining on the inside

Added a tiny strawberry girl charm at the side

Sewed the inner with black lining and Japan cotton batting to make it more fluffy!

Went to JB with papa today!

I think he was really happy today ((;
headed to wong ah fok street and wandered around and chanced upon this "Jin Long curry fish head"

It was just along the streets, packed with alot of people inside the shop, and loads of queue outside. and its precisely this type of eateries, that attract me, cos it simply just screams " GOOD FOOOD!!"

And luckily there was only the 2 of us, so we were able to get in immediately. yayyness!

the rates are like SUPER affordable. We ordered the portion for 2, which amounts to 18RM!

The curry was HEAVENLY! and i mean REALLY HEAVENLY. the taste was just right, not too spicy. There's a tinge of saltiness, mixed with the spicyness. I LOVE IT! i couldn't stop drinking the curry. kudos calories!

but heck it. the food's good! and there were cabbages, ladies fingers, sweet tau pok, long beans and tomatos inside, all soaked with the goodness of the curry. GOOD STUFF
except for the quality of the rice, i think its not as good as those we had in singapore. but papa said that was usual.

and yes, we finished almost EVERYTHING! can't finish the soup. its sinful!

the total bill came up to 23.60 RM, which is like only a mere 10SGD for two! YUMMY CURRY FISH HEAD FOR TWO FOR 10 SGD! (rice and drinks included)

i'm so coming back. definitely.

and no, the lady boss did not pay me for the review. i really loveeeee the curry XD

When I engaged a piano service company to tune my piano sometime last year, the man asked me, do you know how many keys there are in a piano?

It turns out that there are 88 keys in a standard piano, of which 36 are black.

It's pretty interesting to learn about facts about piano. So i googled to find more (Facts #1,2 from funtrivia.com)

Fact #1:

The real name of the piano is actually pianoforte, since it can be loud and soft, piano being soft and forte being loud. I never really thought about this question, but now that i recall those days i was learning piano, p always indicates playing the notes softly, and f indicates playing the notes loudly!

Fact #2

Prior to the invention of piano, early composers like Bach used the harpsichord to compose music. It has a higher pitch than the piano and no notes can be sustained

The piano is known as "The King of Instruments". The piano earned this title for a number of reasons including it's tonal range ( the piano covers the full spectrum of any instrument in the orchestra from below the lowest note of the double bassoon to above the top note of the piccolo), it's ability to produce melody and accompaniment at the same time (try that on a flute) and it's broad dynamic range. It is also the largest musical instrument (excluding the pipe organ), most versatile and one of the most interesting.

The Piano was invented in 1698 by an Italian, Bartolomeo Cristofori.

While reading about piano on the internet, i found out that the love story of late Mr Ong Teng Chong and his wife, Mdm Ling Siew May started because of piano. It turns out that they met at a Christmas party organised by a school mate in 1952. Mdm Ling Siew May always loved the piano but her family was unable to afford one. She was really excited to see a piano at the party, and even more excited when she saw Mr Ong Teng Chong playing it. And they spoke after his performance. How sweet (:

I don't have pretty much recollection of late Mr Ong Teng Chong, but i could only remember that i really liked him last time. I don't know why though.
I nearly died of shock when my iphone suddenly died on me yesterday! it just suddenly blacked out and couldn't be switched on. considering that i only owned it for 6months,i went into a panic state. well...i did drop it a couple of times, but it can't be that fragile! and anyway, it doesnt seem to make sense that i suddenly blacked out and not immediately after i dropped my phone.

And considering i was about to be late and going to meet my friend my dinner, i was frantically googling for solutions online. Apparently this problem was quite common and there were quite alot of posts about it. And so, after pressing the sleep button and menu button simultaneously for a few seconds, the phone was able to restart and switch on. PHEW. don't die on me,my dear phone, i have no $$ to get a new one.

Had dinner at Vivo's modesto! and guess what, my friend let me drive his car =D to send myself home.hahaha! and its his brand new car man. i was so afraid i might scratch it or get into an accident.everytime a huge vehicle comes near me i will just get stressed.

Heh, he said my driving was pretty good =D considering it was my first time on the road after i passed, i could still talk and drive at the same time. well its probably not a big thing, but hey, afterall,i am a noob! and i've got friends who don't response to me when they drive, prolly cos they wanna concentrate on the road.

And i suppose i can multi-task pretty well, not that its exactly a totally good thing. I'll like watch tv and play iphone, making my eyes tired =.=

I guess driving and carrying on a conversation was still managable cos after all, i'm only using my hands, eyes and ears, or hands eyes and mouth ( to respond) at one time. and so i recall, i totally can't be in a conversation when i'm playing the piano. Now i know why cos it requires my hands, eyes, ears and mouth at the same time.

its either I gotta listen to the music and someone speak, or listen to the music and speak. not easy for me!

but nonetheless, i'm still VERY happy that i got to drive yesterday =D and safely got home! YAYYYNESSSSS

teehee.

was bored, so i decided to change my blogskin and format XD
yum yum.

i know this is like real unhealthy but its yummy.
*munches for ba gwa and sips on milo for breakfast*

Lunch! yayy! cooked tom yam. I like cooking it this way rather than using tom yam maggie mee. I reckon the taste is way better using the tom yam cube and mee kia (; its not really that troublesome, pretty much the same as cooking instant noodles, except that I boil the mee kia separately, run it in cold water, drain, and set aside, before cooking the tom yam soup base

throw in sliced buttom mushrooms, fish (marinated with salt and oil), some meat (marinated with light soya sauce and pepper), prawns (marinated with salt). And there you have, yummy tom yam noodles!

decided to cook spagetti today.and viola! (; using the Margarita con vegetable pasta i bought from Italy/Spain (can't really remember)

its weird that the name of the pasta is called margarita since margarita is spposed to be a cocktail consisting of tequila mixed with triple sec and lime or lemon juice, often served with salt on the glass rim, according to wikipedia.

Oh wells. A pity my aunty forgot to take out the fish,if not the dish would have been more savory! and surprising, its quite good, considering that i just adding the ingredients and sauce according to my own imagination (; so i shall name it huey's dried spicy spagetti. I suppose it was because I tasted this superbly yummy dried spicy spagetti when i was in Italy, and thus decided to get in chopped chilli padi in the recipe, and my gosh,it really tasted good!

According to my memory of what i did, this shall be the rough guide (;

-250g pasta (should be sufficient for 4)
-3 small cuttlefish
-6-7 prawns
-some meat, sliced and marinated with light soya sauce, salt, pepper
-fish (adding fish would be better for the dish though I didn't add it this time round. marination would be sufficient with oil and salt)
-about 3-4 cloves of garlic,chopped
-2 onions, sliced
-garlic powder ( Got from italy. i think cold storage speciality stores sells it too. Makes the dish abit more spicy)
-3 minced chilli padi with seeds removed
-pasta sauce ( adding 1-2 tomatos, diced, should make the taste better!)

steps
1. boil the spagetti with water, and add salt and oil, for approximately 15 mins ( depending on the type of pasta used, duration would be different)

2. Rinse in cold water and set aside

3. Add oil and fry onions, garlic, chilli padi in order. (the smell turned out to be overwhelming, guess its due to the chilli padi

4. Add meat, squid, prawns and fry. Add a little salt to enhance the taste

5. Add 6-7 table spoons of pasta and some water

6. Add in pasta, stir and one teaspoon of garlic powder

7. fry and simmer

8. Serve

and there it is, huey's dried spicy spagetti ((;
